GAS & POWER: The supply constraints that have emerged in recent weeks in the Pacific region have been compounded in the past few hours by the maintenance shutdown at the Australian Darwin LNG plant. Santos, the plant's main operator, has not provided information on the recovery timeframe, although it described the shutdown as planned and related to commissioning activities. Only three cargoes have been delivered since operations resumed in January, after nearly three years of shutdown caused by the deterioration of the associated production well. The plant, with a capacity of approximately 3.7 million tons per year, normally ships once a week.

OIL: Crude oil prices fell 4% yesterday evening after yet another signal of de-escalation from the US administration. Tehran, at least superficially, has so far rejected any suggestion of ongoing negotiations between the parties, but according to several sources, an initial meeting could be brokered by Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt as early as tomorrow.
