Episode n.124 of 08/09/2026 – The Energy Call

In episode 124 of The Energy Call we talked about, among others, the following topics: - Reports to the Customs Agency by some trade associations regarding several critical issues and anomalies found in the management of the new six-monthly declarations for gas and electricity and a simultaneous request for a deferral of deadlines and suspension of fines. - Initiation of a consultation by Terna on the updating of the network code concerning, among other things, the participation of UVAZs in the MFRR platform and the reconfiguration of the replacement reserve to redispatch. On the energy markets, gas prices have exceeded the psychological threshold of 75 euros megavatt-hours on the non-FTTF front, continuing the upward race, favored by the resumption of firefights between the parties and the intensification, by the United States, of countermeasures on the economic sanctions front, although so far with limited results. Regarding fundamentals, the second phase of maintenance on Norwegian production has begun, scheduled and lasting until the end of the month, while European storage facilities are preparing to face a winter season at a ten-year low. In Italy, Qatar Energy recently announced the extension of force majeure until early November, with the number of loads affected by the shutdown increasing to 29, for a total of 3.8 billion cubic meters, of which approximately two have been replaced.
