GAS & POWER: Combined pipe and ship gas imports set a new record in China last December. Following a trend that characterized much of the year, the main increase came from pipelined supplies, which grew by almost 2 billion cubic meters compared to the same period of the previous year and to their highest level in at least the last five years. Liquefied gas deliveries overall exceeded 10 billion cubic meters for the first time since the beginning of the year, hitting records since January 2024.

EQUITY: A new tariff storm looms on the horizon for financial markets, largely in the red in early morning trading. The White House is aiming to hit European countries that have primarily opposed Washington's plans for Greenland with new tariffs. In response the European Union said it was ready to use a fairly large and substantial counter-tariff system (initially designed to challenge China).
