28/07/2025 – European Sustainability Directive (CSDDD): Qatar threatens to stop LNG supplies – Read the other news

GAS & POWER: Qatar's energy minister al-Kaabi reportedly sent a letter to Brussels threatening to cut off LNG supplies from the emirate if the 27 do not review the environmental sustainability policies contained in the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) package, recently adopted by the European Parliament and expected to be implemented within the next year. This last formal letter follows similar “threats” already made known last December, which were then not followed by responses evidently considered adequate by the Arab country

EQUITY: Gap up opening of the week for European markets. On the one hand the new records set by Wall Street on Friday, on the other the agreement reached on tariffs between Europe and the United States. According to what remains known so far, the two countries have agreed on tariffs of 15%, in line with what has already been achieved with other important counterparts, and European investments of over 600 billion dollars in the next three years, in addition to the purchase of 750 billion dollars of energy products.
