GAS & POWER: The declared threat by senior Iranian government officials of the closure of the Strait of Hormuz has pushed gas prices to their highest levels since last March, with a daily increase not observed for months, +8% variation on the front-month. The pressure coming from the main political group in support of the current US administration, opposed to the opening of a new war front, led President Trump to take two weeks to evaluate the possible entry into the conflict
After announcing the start of new production wells, the Egyptian prime minister said that by the end of the month two new FSRU units will be installed in the country, finally allowing an increase in regasification capacity. It should be the ship Energos Eskimo, previously operating in Jordan, and Energos Power, unit previously contracted in Germany but never put into operation for lack of interest. At full capacity both should have an annual regasification capacity of just under 8 billion cubic metres
