GAS & POWER: Gas prices continue to rise, starting the week above the €45/MWh mark and confirming the new upward trend in the absence of any clear developments regarding liquefaction in the Gulf. The arrival of a new, partial heatwave across the continent is helping to keep demand for spot deliveries high, providing further support to the market.

Over the past week, Asian markets have once again traded at a premium to European markets for spot deliveries, with the first signs of a potential reversal now limited to September deliveries. Meanwhile, regasification at European terminals hit new lows for the year over the weekend, down by almost 30 per cent compared with the previous year’s levels. Such a low contribution over this period had not been seen since 2021.
