GAS & POWER: Gas prices remain buoyant at the start of the week. On the one hand, the complicated start of negotiations between the United States and Iran, with the weekend seeing yet another threat from the United States of a resumption of the conflict, to which Tehran responded with the announcement of the closure of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. On the other hand, the accident occurred at the industrial city of Ras Laffan last night: QatarEnergy confirmed an explosion at the Barzan plant, a facility designed to meet local demand, which injured more than 50 people. More details will be released later in the day, but any implications for liquefaction plants could support a further price rebound, well above the 42 €/MWh mark.

Secondo quanto riportato da Reuters almeno quattro navi metaniere gestite da QatarEnergy starebbero in queste ore approcciando lo Stretto di Hormuz, in direzione dell’impianto di Ras Laffan, con arrivo previsto entro la giornata di domani. Tre di queste quattro metaniere risultano già sostanzialmente a ovest del passaggio, in navigazione nel Golfo. Nel frattempo ADNOC ha inviato nuovamente due navi a est dello Stretto con il transponder disattivati.
