Episode n.108 of 05/05/2026 – The Energy Call

In episode 108 of The Energy Call, we discussed the following topics, amongst others: - the single buyer’s launch of the consultation on the operational document and specifications for the gas transmission default activation process, and the publication on the ITS2 website of the list of accredited foreign verifiers; - Comments on Terna’s management of the EUP retrofitting with BRPs currently being issued, and the publication by CISEA of the operational procedures for data collection for standard special tariff schemes; - On the markets front, new risks of escalation in the Gulf – first the prospect of a US naval blockade lasting months, then yet another Iranian peace plan deemed unsatisfactory by the White House, and finally the launch of the military operation Project Freedom, which immediately sparked fresh military tensions – are pushing oil and gas prices to their highest levels in the last month; - Looking at Europe, a significant impact is expected at the start of the last ten days of the month due to maintenance operations on Norwegian production, whilst stocks have already lost the small gap they had recovered at the start of April, and the prospect of lower year-on-year LNG deliveries suggests a further slowdown in injection activities compared to last year.
