GAS & POWER: Following an unexpected partial shutdown over the weekend, the US-based Freeport LNG terminal has commenced scheduled maintenance work on one of the plant’s three liquefaction trains. It is unclear how long the work will take, though it is expected to last several weeks. Meanwhile, the Golden Pass LNG terminal has seen feed gas flows cease since Tuesday, following maintenance work related to the start-up phase – the second shipment of liquefied gas was delivered last week. With supplies to liquefaction plants at their lowest since early February, partly due to ongoing work at the Cameron LNG terminal, US export capacity is expected to be affected in the coming weeks.

OIL: US crude oil stocks fell by over four million barrels in the week ending Friday 8 May, the third consecutive decline and at a faster rate than expected. Meanwhile, the decline in petrol stocks continues, reaching their lowest level in five years for this time of year.
