27/03/2026 – Cyclone Narelle hits Western Australia, knocking more than a third of the country’s liquefaction capacity offline – Read more news

GAS & POWER: The event affects a significant portion of Australia's liquefaction capacity, which overall exceeds 100 billion cubic meters per year, making the country one of the world's leading LNG exporters. The full extent of the damage remains uncertain and will be crucial in assessing recovery times. The simultaneous disruption of multiple facilities in the Indo-Pacific region—already under pressure from the Qatari shutdown and Darwin LNG maintenance—risks further exacerbating supply tensions to Asian markets, potentially impacting flows to Europe as well.

ITALY: Edison received a new force majeure notification from QatarEnergy yesterday, extending the delivery restrictions to five additional LNG cargoes scheduled between May and mid-June, in addition to those already canceled for April. At the same time, the Foro Buonaparte company announced the signing of an agreement to end the ongoing arbitration proceedings with Venture Global regarding delayed deliveries from the Calcasieu Pass liquefaction project terminal. As part of the agreement, additional deliveries of LNG cargoes were agreed, the first scheduled for next May at the Adriatic LNG terminal, where they will replace part of the Qatari supplies.
