GAS & POWER: As expected, several bilateral elections concerning the energy sector are taking place on the margins of the twenty-fifth summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. China and Russia have agreed to increase supplies via Power of Siberia, expected to reach 38 billion cubic meters this year, setting a new target at 44 billion cubic meters. Secondly, a new memorandum was also signed for the construction of the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline, a project on which Moscow has been pushing for some time but which is finding timid responses from Beijing.

OIL: New American sanctions against the Iranian crude oil sector push prices above the $69/bbl threshold. Meanwhile, analysts await the next meeting of the OPEC+ group, set for Sunday 7 September.
