GAS & POWER: Prices have soared across the energy sector in recent hours: reports of possible corrosion fractures detected during planned maintenance activities at the French Civaux 2 reactor reopen the spectre of more extensive shutdowns for the transalpine nuclear park, as was already the case in 2022 when half of the plant was shut down for extraordinary maintenance. The reactor is scheduled to be back in operation on 30 July, but updates are expected much earlier from both the regulator and EDF
