GAS & POWER: The indirect talks in Doha between the United States and Iran have concluded with positive progress, with the Strait of Hormuz among the main topics of discussion. The next meeting is scheduled for after 9 July. However, whilst crude oil prices hit new lows this morning, gas markets remain firmly supported, recording further gains following rumours that QatarEnergy has notified its first force majeure extensions to Asian counterparties as well, significantly increasing uncertainty over the plant’s ability to recover quickly – a timeline now pushed back to between late July and early August and heavily dependent on geopolitical developments.

ITALIA: Sistema bilanciato: il calo delle temperature dai valori record delle ultime settimane ha portato ad una riduzione del carico gas-to-power, e parallelamente della domanda totale. L’aumento della capacità di generazione eolica permette in queste ore di ridurre ulteriormente il peso sui consumi. D’altra parte, le condizioni di vento forte e maltempo nell’alto Adriatico stanno limitando la capacità di rigassificazione del terminale Adriatic LNG di circa il 50% - condizione attesa risolversi nelle prossime ventiquattro ore.
