GAS & POWER: Oman has established in coordination with IMO — the International Maritime Organization responsible for regulating global navigation — a temporary maritime corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, open to all ships, without the payment of tolls. The IMO has simultaneously launched an evacuation plan for the more than 11,000 seafarers still stranded in the Gulf. Traffic is approaching its highest level since February along the Omani coastal route, while some reports suggest the central canal is still blocked due to naval mines yet to be removed.

Investment funds significantly reduced their long-term exposure in the week ending Friday, June 19, in the wake of announcements of the signing of the MOU between the United States and Iran, bringing it to its lowest level since the second week of March, just after the conflict began. The total of long positions, equivalent to 184 TWh, still remains well above the average exposure recorded over the first two months of the year – approximately equal to 105 TWh.
