03/06/2026 – Ichthys LNG: Strikes begin, immediate impact on terminal operations – Read more news

GAS & POWER: What is emerging as a new uptrend in gas markets is gaining strength, unable to set new lows since April 17, with the strong geopolitical contradictions that have once again confirmed themselves in recent days. After announcing an agreement virtually reached last Friday, the gap between the United States and Iran has once again become clear, with disputes over control of the Strait of Hormuz and the nuclear issue appearing far from reconcilable.

Employers and unions have been unable to reach an agreement at the Ichthys plant in Australia, leading to the first strikes starting yesterday, adding to the ongoing situation affecting other terminals at North West Shelf and Pluto. According to the association, the greatest disruption will be observed between June 11 and 23, but in the meantime, the LNG carrier PACIFIC BREEZE has already seen its departure from the terminal, initially scheduled for yesterday, postponed by twenty-four hours.
