Episode n.106 of 21/04/2026 – The Energy Call

In episode 106 of The Energy Call we talked about, among others, the following topics:

- Publication on the ETS2 website of some FAQs relating both to the determination of the quantity of natural gas released for consumption annually and to the identification of any data received from ETS1 operators on their electronic desk and the method of use in their communication.

- Publication in the official journal of the bill decree and commentary on the 24-hour switching process following the adoption by the European Commission of the relevant implementing regulation.

- A week of great volatility in the gas markets, which for the first time since the outbreak of the conflict fell below the 40 euro megawatt-hour threshold, following the announcement on Friday of the reopening of the Ormuz gas station. However, by Saturday morning, which materialized in the following hours, the closure status had returned.

- On the fundamentals front, a more intensive maintenance phase has been launched on Norwegian production fields, while thermal is expected to be in line with or below typical seasonal values, supporting residual demand in Northern Europe.
