19/03/2026 – Iranian missiles hit Ras Laffan industrial complex, gas prices open at highest since December 2022 – Read more news

GAS & POWER: Gas prices reached their highest since 2022 this morning, hitting €75/MWh at the opening of the session on the April 26 ICE TTF product. Yesterday was a busy day: after an initial period of moderate declines, the IDF raid on the Iranian South Pars gas field reignited tensions. Prices then began to rise sharply when Tehran listed the industrial city of Ras Laffan as a response target, closing around €55/MWh. The actual attack on the energy complex took place in the evening, which appears to have sustained significant damage. Further details will be released as soon as possible.

EQUITY: The US central bank stalled for more time yesterday. The Fed is still too busy to assess the effects of the Middle East conflict, and has consequently opted to maintain the current interest rate level. New pressure has come from the Trump presidency, dissatisfied with the lack of interest rate cuts.
