Episode n.100 of 10/03/2026 – The Energy Call
In Episode 100 of The Energy Call we discussed, among others, the following topics:
- In response to the significant price fluctuations recorded in European energy markets in recent days, ARERA has established an energy monitoring unit tasked with monitoring wholesale and retail gas and electricity prices in real time.
- ARERA also draws the attention of electricity and gas sellers to the obligations set out in the regulations on the coding of offers and their publication on the offers portal.
- Publication by CISEA of Circular 8 on the compensation mechanism for fraudulent withdrawals and by ARERA of Resolution 58 on the reform of the supplier switching process in the electricity sector, known as the 24-hour switch.
- On the markets side, the lack of substantial progress in mediating the conflict in the Middle East and, indeed, the expansion of targets to certain energy infrastructures in the Gulf region has pushed oil and gas prices to their highest levels since 2022. Meanwhile, Qatar Energy is beginning to feel the long-term effects of the postponement until 2027 of the start of production of its massive liquefaction capacity expansion plan.
