15/12/2025 – Gas storage in Europe: average fill levels fall below the 70% threshold – Read more news

GAS & POWER: Deutsche ReGas has launched a competitive tender process to bring a second FSRU unit to the Mukran LNG terminal in Germany. The operator has received several proposals from international suppliers and is evaluating the available options, without a final decision having been made or a timeline defined. The project had already been discussed in recent months, following the termination of the contract for the Energos Power FSRU, which was initially intended to operate alongside the Neptune FSRU unit and was subsequently sub-chartered to Egypt.

European storage levels have fallen below 70% capacity. Despite the upcoming holiday season, the return of average temperatures for this time of year will push operators to rely on reserves in the second half of the month as well. Since the beginning of November, approximately 150 TWh have been supplied, down from 190 TWh last year. A relatively mild second week of the month and sustained arrivals at European terminals were the main supporting factors.
