GAS & POWER: Yesterday was a decidedly volatile day, with prices falling below the psychological threshold of 70 €/MWh on the front-month TTF product in the middle of the day, only to recover later and close higher than the previous session. Operators' expectations for a close deal between the United States and Iran have been partly dashed by statements from the American president, who has once again threatened to intensify military operations against Tehran and hinted at the possibility of an agreement only after the mid-term elections scheduled for November 3. A three-hour meeting between delegations from the two countries took place on the sidelines of the Tycoon conference.

OIL: Saudi Arabia restarted operations on Tuesday on the East-West pipeline, which has been closed since September 13 after drone strikes damaged three pumping stations. The line has restarted at reduced capacity: Saudi Aramco aims to bring flows back to the 4 million barrels/day handled before the shutdown, but a full return to normal is estimated at 6-8 weeks.
