GAS & POWER: The extraordinary summit at the European Council to discuss European defence and Ukraine once again brought up the subject of Russian gas transit via Ukraine, included in the final draft of the summary document: strong pressure for an immediate resumption by a group of member states led once again by Slovakia

The US company Venture Global announced yesterday evening the start of the process that will lead to a new expansion of the Plaquemines LNG project: the goal is to have additional liquefaction capacity of 18.6 million tonnes per year in operation by 2029, bringing the total to more than 40 million tonnes per year. In 2025, the plant, which started up last December, is expected to deliver around 230 cargoes, more than half of which are destined for the spot market.
